On 5 December our Celebration of Gratitude took place! We look back to a wonderful evening and are looking forward to what is ahead of us.
A Celebration of Gratitude
We would like to express our sincere gratitude for this wonderful evening we were able to spend with you. It was a real pleasure and we look forward to many more years of cooperation and executing our vision of helping and supporting people.
The number of participants far exceeded our expectations. With around 70 friends and sponsors of FCTrelief, we enjoyed a wonderful evening during which we were able to present our charitable organisation. The aperitif was already characterised by good conversations and friendly fellowship.

Markus Ellenbroek, mayor of Tägerwilen, was delighted with what he saw and heard. He greeted the gathering with kind words and expressed his pride in the fact that our village is home to three such charitable organisations. Cantonal Councillor Lukas Madörin was also very moved by the reports from people with ‘A Heart for People.’ It is all about people, and serving and encouraging them was a wonderful thing.

The FCTrelief team prepared PowerPoint presentations and videos that impressively showed everything that has been achieved. Last year, we celebrated our 10th anniversary. The beginnings of our social work in Bulgaria dates back to the year 2000. The Association ‘Heart for Bulgaria’ was founded in 2012.

The founders and directors of FCTrelief, Heiner and Christine Merk, explained why the organisation exists and how it works and is financed. The interview with four Swiss women who were in Zambia in October featured impressive and heartwarming accounts of their experiences. They explained why they support FCTrelief with such enthusiasm and confidence. Gordon Merk, a co-worker, provided more information about donation options, and Pietro Londino, Vice President, rounded off the evening by presenting the Christmas Campaign 2025, ‘Sharing Love’.
